Do Diet Pills Replace Exercise?

by Roger Titley

Most weight loss programs include a greater or lesser amount of exercise, which can put some people off, so it comes as no surprise that there is a ready made market for any easier alternative.

The advent of diet pills that claim to promote weight loss, means that many people are seduced by the appealing advertisements in which manufacturers claim that their product can literally 'melt away' any surplus fat and cellulite.

Now that these pills are starting to dominate the market today, is it really necessary to tone those abs and biceps or follow a restrictive diet if there is a chemical method to lose weight?

It is estimated that 60% of the American population are now considered as obese, and as a result, these 'wonder' drugs are currently harvesting millions of dollars in the United States alone.

But do the weight loss claims being made by the manufacturers about the effectiveness of these diet pills really stand up? Are they really effective in helping people lose weight? And if that is the case, do these diet pills also help those same people keep their ideal weight and inhibit any future fat build-up in the body?

In truth, some diet pill really can help drop those extra pounds. These diet pills contain certain substances that have already been clinically and scientifically proven to be very effective.

These diet pills mainly work by increasing the metabolic rate of the body, so, creating weight loss. In addition, there are diet pills that contain certain ingredients which are designed to reduce the appetite.

However, with so many diet pills saturating the market today, trying to find the best and most effective diet pill can be a daunting task. There is the likelihood of being blinded with science by all of the information and as a result you may end up choosing the wrong diet pill.

Actually, there are only five factors to consider when choosing diet pills that are effective whilst at the same time being safe to use. Here is a list of the factors that you need to consider in order to come up with a diet pill that is right and appropriate.

1. The Metabolic Rate Boost

When choosing diet pills that will make you lose weight, look out for pills that have ingredients that will raise your body's metabolism. It is your metabolic rate that determines the ability of the body to burn excess fats.

Choose diet pills that contain alpha lipoic acid, green tea extracts, and 'L-Canitine' because these ingredients have been clinically proven to be effective in helping weight loss through increased metabolic rate.

2. Appetite Suppressants

You can find diet pills that effectively limit your appetite. It does not necessarily mean that you will miss meals but you will simply not feel hungry as frequently. The cause of this is that one of the contributing factors to obesity is the desire to snack in-between meals. This 'snack' usually takes the form of 'fast or 'convenient' food which normally results in an excessive calorie intake.

3. The Calorie Stopper

Fat is usually a result of a surplus of calories being eaten and then the excess being stored inside the body, One way to counter this excess is to choose diet pills that contain the special ingredients that will reduce the retention of calories in the body.

These substances are known as 'phaseolus vulgaris.' They are known to create an enzyme that will effectively manage any excess calories in the body. The enzyme responsible for this wonderful job is known as 'alpha-amylase.'

4. Metabolic Enhancers

Diet pills that have the so-called 'lipotropic elements' as part of their make-up are very good at removing fats from the body. It behaves like a sweeper that effectively cleans excess fats from the body.

Lipotropic elements are commonly found in vitamin C, chitosan, alpha lipoic acid, and green tea extracts.

5. Diet Pills to Break Water-Retention

Another effective type of diet pill is one that contains diuretics. These are elements that stop the retention of water in the body. Since liquids make up a significant portion of the body, not storing water will cause weight loss.

All of these factors are clinically proven and effective in losing weight. Though, it should always be remembered that diet pills alone are not sufficient to provide optimum any weight loss. It is still necessary to do a certain amount of exercise as this will help the body to tone muscle and burn fat naturally.

Therefore, with exercise and the right diet pills, you can definitely be on your way to a healthier, slimmer you.

Before you begin any weight loss program or begin any course of weight loss or diet pills, it is important that you take advice from a doctor in order to make sure that there will be no unwanted side effects or conflicts with any existing course of medication that you may be taking.
