A Woman's Size Has Nothing To Do With Her Beauty

by Andrea Dilea

All women can look beautiful as long as they know a few simple tricks to help them look their best. Plus size women are not excluded from this statement. Celebrities such as Oprah and Delta Burke have opened the eyes of society to show us that a woman's size does not limit her beauty.

Clothing for the larger person has changed quite a bit from the plain and dowdy fashions of yesterday. Today's designers have recognized the need for quality and beauty in plus size clothing, and they are meeting that demand with a variety of styles. You can now purchase a fashionable shirt, blazer or slacks in sizes 16 and above - for less than you think. These clothes are tailored to hide a thick middle or other problem area while accentuating the positives, such as a long neckline or shapely bust. The following article will help you learn how to dress appropriately for your body type and lifestyle.

If you are a larger woman, remember to "think vertical" when shopping for clothes. What we mean by this is that you should not consider patterns on your clothes that flow in a horizontal fashion. Such designs tend to accentuate your negative features. Vertical stripes and modern snaps will make people look from head to toe, giving the illusion of slimness.

Finding the right size is very important for any clothing piece. You should always make sure it's the right fit, the clothes you choose should hug your body, not strangle it. Clothes too baggy are not a good choice either; even if you are a plus size there shouldn't be a need to try to hide your body. A good fitting top should work with your body and its curves. Remember that clothing should make you feel classy and chic no matter your body type.

Stick to classic designs and clean cuts when choosing your plus size fashion tops. These types of fashion tops help define a full figured body and work best for our curves. Don't be afraid of color! This fall offers a dazzling display of color in plus size fashion tops. While black may be slimming, color can add pizzazz! Select colors in shades that are flattering to your skin tone and body type.

It's fine to show a little skin if you do it right. If you want people to notice your pretty face and shapely bosom, wear a top with a deep V-neck. But don't expose your midriff without having well-toned abs! Also stay away from plus sized tops with large prints, since those just make big women look even bigger. This is true of animal prints too, but there are ways you can still make use of them. They certainly lend a touch of elegance to outfits when used in accessories like scarves.

Selecting the right style, color and size will make you feel great all season long. Fashion tops in a plus size worn with suits, jackets, and slacks is a way to create many affordable mutliple looks. You can also pull a look together that is up-to-date with trendy shoes, handbags, and scarves. Simply adding a brooch or pin is another way to add a touch of glamour to your fashion tops and jackets.
